Tasting Notes: Château Ksara Château

A truly historic wine that for nearly half a century was Chateau Ksara’s flagship wine before the introduction of the Cuvée du Troisième Millénaire and Le Souverain in 2000 and 2007 respectively.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, this is a classic Bordeaux blend with all the energy and concentration that is the hallmark of the Bekaa Valley.

This wine has pronounced aromas of red fruit, especially cherry and plum, but also blackberry and bramble along with white pepper and eucalyptus with secondary notes of chocolate, coffee and toast with varying degrees of tertiary notes depending on the vintage. In the mouth the wine is dry with good acidity and is full bodied. There are further notes of, red and black fruit and green bell pepper. The finish is long. It can be drunk now or aged for nearly two decades, retaining fruit, acidity and structure with tertiary flavours such as cedar, leather and cigar box.

Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (10%)

Alc: 13.5%
